Ross and Smith Island

This twin island beach is connected by a sandbar. From afar, it looks like two bushy chunks surrounded by sparkling blue water, are holding hands through a stretch of white sands. These two islands stand in seclusion from city life. The tropical forests in these islands makes home for an expansive wildlife. Just near the beach is the turtle nesting point and marine sanctuary; must visit spots.

You would need to seek permissions from Forest Office in Diglipur for entering these islands. The cost for the same is Rs 50 for Indians and Rs 500 for foreigners. Timings of the permission activities are from 6 am to 2 pm.

Lalaji Bay Beach

Located at Long Island, Lalaji Bay Beach is one of the scenic beaches in Andaman. Visitors reach here enjoying a boat ride from Yerrata Jetty to Long Island. White shell sand with shallow waters and dead corals make it perfect for snorkeling as well. The wide beaches becomes perfect for evening walk and offers stunning sunset views.

In comparison to Bharatpur beach, which is located close to this beach, Laxmanpur beach is a bigger, longer beach and thus even during peak season, guests can find their own space.

Bharatpur Beach

Sitapur Beach

One of the most beautiful beaches of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sitapur Beach at Neil Island is placed on the island’s tip and is just 5 km from the main market. Also known as Beach No.5 and Sunrise beach, it is quite popular for offering memorable early morning sunrise views. Crystal clear waters ideal for swimming and picture perfect beauty of this serene beach with 2 curved bays are the highlights.

Though the sea here sometimes has stronger currents and higher tides but swimming is one of the best things to do at Sitapur Beach. The beach boasts of soft sands, limestone formation, natural vegetation and palm trees offering plenty of shades. Embark on a leisure walk and indulge in fun activities.

When the tides are low, you can also walk up to second bay for exploring the caves and the tranquility of the place. The beach is ideal for those searching for some intimacy and peace as it is not crowded. However, it is sans any facilities and only fresh coconut water is available. For food and water, there is a small restaurant just 100 m away from the beach.

VijayNagar Beach
