Overview

Shiv Niwas Palace was built by Maharana Fateh Singh in the early 20th century. This Crescent shaped architecture is situated within the City Palace premises, was built exclusively for the guests of the House of Mewar. In today’s time it is a site of Grand Heritage and resting place for modern culture guests visiting Udaipur. The palace is a scenic combination of Indian art & craftsmanship with its use of carved marble, crafted metal and Rajputana Furniture.

City Palace Museum is just a walking distance away from the Palace. Lake Pichola, Crystal Gallery, Jag Niwas and Jagdish Temple are within a km of range. You can also book a day tour for Heritage Walk of Udaipur, local cultural programes & Handicrafts emporium.

To reach the palace take a quick cab drive from Maharana Pratap Airport which is 28 km away or from Udaipur railway station just 2 km away.

Paantya

Paantya is a fine dining multi-cuisine restaurant at the Palace. The restaurant is setup on an elevated platform in sink with the terrains of the Aravallis. It is well decorated with gold framed mirrors, gold lattice-work on walls, antique chandeliers, and original wall paintings depicting traditional Mewar artwork. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner the restaurant shows its expertise in Mughlai, Continental and authentic local Rajasthani Cuisine. You can book your table to the side-open area adorned with carved arched pillars that opens to the panoramic view of the city.

The Pool Deck

A candle lit evening by the side of the Pool and accompanied with your loved ones. Such is the ambiance of this place. Pool Deck is an open area setup by the four sides of the pool on the marbled floor. It is apt for Light snacks and variety of drinks to try at. Take a moment for casual conversation or make new companions when the surrounding is filled with soft instrumental music.

Panera

‘Panera’ which goes by its literal meaning as ‘storehouse for water and liquor’ is the elite styled bar at Shiv Niwas Palace. The lavish décor of this place is inspired from the lifestyle of Kings and Maharajas of Mewar.  Unique striped sofas, rich carpet, huge antique chandelier at the center, big ornate mirrors, hanging lamps, big paintings of the people and high crafted roofs make a royal appearance. In the midst of this beauty it offers an experience to try their exotic collection of fine drinks and light snacks.

Palki Khana

Palki Khana is an interesting open area setup nearby The City Palace Museum. This café serves mainly Italian, Continental and Indian Cuisines.  Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it is a good attractive point for guests after a tiring walk through the Palace Museum. The white tables-chairs are shaded by the big white umbrellas to create an ambiance for informal conversation or make new companions.
