About Eiffel Tower

Gustave Eiffel is the designer of this magnificent structure after whom the name Eiffel Tower was given. It was built for the 1889 Exposition  Universelle (World's Fair) and took 300 words, 2 years, and 2.5 million rivets to construct.

Once completed, the tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure till 1930, when New York’s Chrysler Building was made. 

Painted in 6 colors throughout its existence, Eiffel Tower has been painted red and bronze since 1968. 

For the 2024 Olympics, Eiffel Tower's previous 19 coats will be stripped, and a new yellow-brown shade will be applied. 

Coming back to the things to do at Eiffel Tower, there is an observation deck offering majestic views of Paris. 

There are three floors on the Eiffel Tower discussed below.

#1 Floor - The first floor of the Eiffel Tower is 57 m tall but does not have the most impressive views. Its glass-enclosed Pavilion Ferrié contains an immersion film and a small cafe and souvenir shop. This floor has a restaurant, 58 Tour Eiffel.

#2 Floor - You can see excellent city views from the Eiffel Tower's second floor (115 m tall). There are telescopes you can use. Story windows offer a glimpse of the lifts’ mechanics, and the vision well allows you to see through glass panels to the ground. This floor features a souvenir shop, a macaron bar, toilets, and the Michelin-star restaurant Le Jules Verne.

#3 Floor - It is the top floor of the Eiffel Tower, and a separate ticket has to be purchased for it, and the stairs conclude on the second floor only. It is 276 m tall and offers surreal views of Paris, stretching up to 60 km on a clear day. You can drink at the Champagne Bar and peep into Gustave Eiffel’s restored top-level office, known as the ‘secret apartment’.
