Chatham Saw Mill

Asia’s largest and oldest saw mill Chatham Saw Mill is located in Chatham Island and was set up by British in 1883. The mill got devastated due to a bomb dropped by Japan in the island with the intention of invading, and they did so until 1945. Chatham Saw Mill today is managed by The State Government. When you will step into the vicinity you can see logs of woods spread across the region, in the process of turning into something miraculous. And to know the definition of miraculous, you can always explore the museum inside the mill. The museum exhibits impeccable creation made from woods by the artisans.
