Rajasthan Camel Safari Tour

Rajasthan Desert Safari falls in the list of the fastest selling adventure vacations of India including camel treks around Jaisalmer. Camel safari is a superb way by which you can explore the expansive Indian desert and is also a unique way to enjoy a holiday.

The Great Indian Desert may not be as expansive as the deserts of the Sahara and Namibia, but you can actually have a great time, enjoying a camel ride passing magnificent citadels and beautiful untouched villages. Contrary to those of African countries, you can easily reach the sand dunes of Rajasthan from airports and railway stations.

The Camel Safari Circuit presen consists of Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Bikaner, the erstwhile princely states of Rajasthan. In the ancient times, this area prospered mainly because of the trade through camel caravans. Due to resulting influx of money, a number of palaces, havelis and mansions were erected by merchants and the nobility of those times.

By embarking on a camel safari in the Rajasthan desert, you can indulge in a number of interesting activities such as exploring the villages, discovering the region’s wildlife and riding through the sand of the desert. If you go for a camel safari around Jaisalmer, you will explore the Lodurva Jain temples, ruins of the Bhatti Rajput desert kingdom- founders of Jaisalmer, the Anasagar oasis, Sam sand dunes and Mool Sagar Lake. On the way, you can observe the daily activities of the nearby villages. Overnight stay in a camp here will be great.

While the temperature of the desert in the afternoon can be extremely high, the night temperatures may drop down below zero. Thus, you should carry both woolens and cottons. During camel safari, shorts and skirts are comfortable but social etiquettes dictate that you should cover up your legs.  To save yourself from the scorching heat of the sun, during mid-day wear sun hats with large rims or cotton caps, carrying a scarf for your neck might also help. If you are comfortable then an umbrella may also be helpful. Do not forget Sunscreen lotion, moisturizers and lip balm. Carrying a water bottle, medicines and a citrus fruit is necessary. You can buy a bottle of mineral water from Jodhpur or Jaisalmer. You luggage gets transferred by camel cart or vehicle. If second mode is being used, pack essential stuff in a small handbag to carry it with yourself.
