Birla Temple in Jaipur

An architectural wonder in white marble, Birla temple is yet another religious site in Jaipur that is highly praised by pilgrims as well as archaeology lovers. One of the popular attractions in Jaipur, the Birla temple is also famed as Laxmi Narayan temple and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi.

Unlike the other ancient Hindu temples, it’s architecture has been given a modern approach. Renowned for its fine carvings and delicate work, the temple is a creation of the affluent family of Birlas. The exteriors of this revered Hindu place are full of sculptures based on mythological themes and images of various saints like Socrates and Christ, which are definitely eye catching.

As one enters inside, a large marble panel depicting mythological proceedings is likely to be witnessed. In the description of the temple, special mention has been given to the single stone carved idol of the commemorated deity, Laxmi Narayan, placed inside. Besides this consecrated deity, the famous Hindu temple in Jaipur also houses other important Hindu idols.

Close to the spectacular shrine of the Birla temple, is the majestic museum, which displays the ancestral possessions of the Birla farming. On moving out of the temple complex, visitors can also make their way to Moti Dungri temple which lies in close vicinity.
