Bangalore Palace

Located in the heart of the city, Bangalore Palace is one of the main tourist attractions of Bengaluru (Bengalore). It took many years to complete its construction, which started in the year 1862. The construction of the palace took around 2 years. Back then, it was owned by Maharaja of Mysore belonging to the Wodeyar Dynasty. A blend of Tudor and Scottish Gothic styles of architecture is reflected in the structure. The interior of the palace is downright exquisite.

The ground floor is an open courtyard with blue ceramic tiles and is mainly used for holding private parties. Gothic glass windows, paintings, fortified towers, wood carvings, elegant furniture and other things have been collaborated to get the look. The Darbar Hall has paintings of Raja Ravi Verma and a massive elephant head.

The Palace’s ground is used as a venue for important events like concerts. Aerosmith, Akon, Black Eyed Peas, The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Roger Waters, Guns N’ Roses, The Prodigy, Enrique Iglesias, Cradle of Fifth are just few artists who have performed here. Not just concerts the Ground also houses an amusement park, where you can indulge in joy rides, snow room and water park. Other attractions of Bangalore Palace are A Chair to Weigh Jockeys and Coat of Arms. For the comfort of the visiting tourists, an audio guide of the palace was released. The audio guides are an hour long and are available in Hindi, English, Kannada, French, German, Spanish, German and Italian.
